I have decided that I am going to alternate recipes between old recipes that I never got a chance to post and new recipes from my most current up-to-date foodventures in my posts until I am all caught up. Deal? Deal.
You will probably get smoothied out in the next month or so. I too have joined the smoothie movement and I am all about throwing delicious fruits, veggies and almond/coconut milk into my food processor and making a delicious healthy and filling meal. I could go into the numerous reasons that smoothies are amazing and are amazing for you, but I am sure that you already know all of this information. Therefore, I will tell you that the reason I am loving smoothies is because they are so stinking easy to make and take limited additional time to my morning routine. Additionally, they easily fall into the confines of my current Paleo eating lifestyle as I try to cleanse and continue to build lean muscle in 2013. I recommend that you get some protein powder for your smoothies if you plan to eat them regularly for breakfast because it will just help assist in your overall protein intake (and for vegetarians like me, this is a major concern). Whey protein powder is the probably the most popular and is very good for you but for those who are dairy intolerant (Whey is made from dairy), I recommend egg-white protein powder or soy protein powder. Egg-white protein powder is currently what I am using but it is EXTREMELY difficult to find (even GNC does not carry it), so you are better off ordering it from Amazon.
Okay enough of that. Get a blender. Get a food processor and let’s get smooooothified.
1 cup frozen peach slices
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
2 cups almond/coconut milk
1 teaspoon agave nectar (optional)
1 scoop protein powder (optional)
1) Combine all ingredients into blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
2) Share and Enjoy!
Simple. Easy. Minimal clean up. Health benefits for days. LOVE.
